Biographical note

João Maroco (Ph. D., Washington State University) is an associate professor of ISPA-IU where he teaches courses in Statistics, Research Methods and Data Analysis in the B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. cycles of study. He was also an invited associate professor of the doctoral program of the School of Psychology and the Medicine School at the University of Lisbon. He has been invited to perform dozens of lectures and workshops in Portugal an abroad on Statistical Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. He has published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journals and proceedings of scientific events and conferences, has 21 book chapters and three books in Statistics, Structural Equation Modeling and Psychometric evaluation. He co-oriented seven doctoral theses and two M.Sc. dissertations in the areas of Plant Biology, Psychology and the Social Sciences. He also served as a Juror for 63 academic Juries. Accordingly to Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=KNPseK8AAAAJ ) his scientific-related publications have been quoted more than 6500 times (H=27; I10=53, H(ISI)=20).

Research Interests

João Maroco’s major research interests include College Student Burnout and Engagement, General Psychometric scale evaluation and transcultural adaptation, Prevision and Classification Statistical methods and Structural Equation Modeling of psychometric constructs related to health and marketing customer satisfaction. He also has minor research interests in Plant Biology and Stress Ecophysiology.
