Mónica Pereira has a kindergarten teacher graduation since 2003 and a PhD in Educational Sciences with specialization in Psychology and Education since 2014. She is a member of the research centre CIE-ISPA and also Assistant Professor at ISPA, teaching Pedagogical Intervention Projects, Observation and Analysis in Educational Contexts, Education Methodology in Early Childhood Education, Supervised Practice in Early Childhood Education Contexts, Supervised Practice in Preschool Education and Intervention and Research Seminar.
Her main research interests are the quality in preschool education, particularly related with the identification of contextual, intersubjective, and meaning making issues which potential interfere in what kindergarten teachers recognize and do with children and families. Another central research interest is the identification and characterization of the main needs of early childhood education students during the learning process, in order to identify the contributions that Pedagogical Supervision can mobilize for the development of better professional skills.
