MD specializing in Psychiatry, he is a part of ISPA’s faculty since 1983 in the Clinical Psychology area. He teaches subjects in the fields of Psychopathology, Health Psychology, Phenomenological and existentialist Psychology and Rehabilitation and Social Insertion. He is author to several books in the fields of Psychopathology and Health Psychology.

He was a founding member of Portuguese Society for Health Psychology and the Portuguese Society for Existentialist Psychotherapy and is a member of the Portuguese Society for Psychiatry.

Guest Auxiliary Professor since 2004 he has developed his career in Academic Management.

Notably, he was Vice-director of ISPA for 10 years (1989-1999) and held several positions in directing and coordinating the Institutes management and its Managing Institution the Cooperative ISPA, crl between 1991 and 2010.

He is presently director of ISPA’s Lifelong Training Department.
